What is the difference between us and common carriers?  
There are two predominant differences.    PFS is more flexible as we are not restricted solely to equipment owned by us -- this means that our access to carriers¹ is virtually unlimited. PFS provides customers with transportation rates that are based on the space used on trailers versus common carriers who sell their service based on commodity based tariffs.

Where can PFS save your company money over a common carrier?
We offers competitive rates on loads from 1 skid to truckload, faster transit times and less handling. These factors result in overall greater value to our customers. We  know which routes and destination points our carriers¹ predominantly service and can take advantage of incremental costs and the economies of scale.

What makes PFS more flexible over a common carrier?
PFS has a wide variety of carriers available which gives us much more flexibility. Our ability to draw from an unlimited number of carriers¹ increases our overall service level performance.

How can we reduce damage claims on our shipments?
Common carriers have depots, service corridors and hubs to consolidate and deconsolidate your shipments. On average, a shipment may be handled 3-6 times with a common carrier. PFS reduces damage risk by minimizing the amount of unnecessary handling. In many instances PFS will arrange for the same truck to pick up and deliver your shipment to destination. We are not bound to using carriers¹ that do not meet our high qualification and selection criteria.

How can we reduce transit time over mid to large size common carriers?
In most instances shipments move direct from your company to the final destination avoiding transportation hubs, freight terminals and cross docking. As well, transit time is reduced by servicing all points direct thus avoiding 3-line hauls.
